House now divided. C17. Timber framed; thatched roof with patterned
ridge; brick off-ridge stacks. Originally L-shaped; single-bay hall
range aligned east-west facing north and 2-bay crosswing aligned north-
south, extended by a single bay to the south, early to mid-C19. North
elevation: 2 storeys, hall range to left, 3 square panels to eaves
with straight braces, projecting gabled crosswing to the right, 2 tall
rectangular panels to eaves with herringbone bracing to first floor and
to gable, collar and tie beam roof truss supporting a single pair of
purlins and a ridge piece; irregular fenestration, casements; lean-to
porch to the left with door to the left hand end; left hand (east) gable
end roof truss has V-struts above the collar, one pair of purlins and
ridge piece. West elevation: C17 wing to the left, C19 extension to
the right. C17 wing: left hand bay has closely spaced studs with middle
rail and blocked C17 windows to left of centre and right; right hand bay
has 3 roughly square panels to eaves, irregular fenestration, door to left.
C19 extension: 2 storeys with slate roof; casements with segmental heads
to the right, door with segmental head to the left. Interior not inspected
but likely to be of interest.
