Part of a late C16 stone mansion. The right-hand (south-east) parts were
demolished after a fire and the lower parts of the walls remain in the garden.
Steeply pitched plain tile roofs with gabled ends. Two storeys and attic. Three
bays. Gabled to left with wide canted 2-storey stone bay window with stone mullions
and transoms and leaded panes. To right mullion/transom 2-light window and modern
gabled porch. C18 brick addition at rear with two gables and round-arched stair
window. Two large stacks at west end.
INTERIOR: small rear room has early-C18 fielded panelling, bolection moulded fireplace
surround with cast-iron grate, a round headed cupboard with shell coving, and a
moulded plaster cornice with modillions. The balustrade of staircase renewed but
fielded panel dado remains. First-floor room has fragments of late C16, plaster
friezes with running vine decoration. Also some C17 panelling and moulded plaster
ceilings and heraldic stained glass of 1820.
