Farmhouse. Mid C17 with later alterations. Squared and coursed
rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings; clay tile roof with coped
verges on kneelers; integral end stacks, that to right brick, that to
left ashlar with 2 shafts of circular section. T-shape plan; main 2 room
range with central through-passage and 3 bay service wing to rear; stairs
in rear wing. 2 storeys and attic; 2 windows; small pane glazing bar
sashes with straight hood moulds and rebated surrounds, those to ground
floor are of 2 lights, each having a central chamfered mullion; the ground
and first floor windows have been enlarged by having the sills lowered;
partly blocked cellar window to left, central half glazed door with moulded
surround and straight hood mould; central attic gable containing decorative
lozenge light with hood mould and raised decoration surmounted by a
finial. Small circular opening to left hand (South) gable above a single
light attic window straight hood mould; right hand (north) gable has one
centrally placed blocked window to each floor, those on first and second
floor retain hood moulds. Rear Wing: North side has 3 windows in rebated
surrounds to ground floor including a small possible fire window to left;
those to centre and to right have straight hood moulds; 4 blocked first
floor windows grouped towards right, that to right with straight hood
mould brick stack to left of centre. Gable end of wing has a re-set
window head and hood mould to ground floor left, a centrally placed
blocked attic window with straight hood mould and decorative lozenge
light above. Interior: Exposed ceiling beams with wide chamfers and
cyma stops to first floor rooms of rear range; first floor of main range
right hand room has collapsed; collar and tie beam roofs with double
trenched purlins, straight wind braces, and ridge piece, angle struts
between tie beam and principal rafters; trusses of rear range also
have queen struts.
