Cottage at junction
with Denstone Lane

House and pair of attached cottages. Early C18 with late C18 addition
and later alterations. Ashlar with herringbone tooling; plain tile
roof with coped verges; massive ashlar external end stack and brick
integral end stack to early C18 house, brick ridge stack to the late
C18 cottages. Originally a single-cell, end baffle-entry plan house,
aligned north-south facing east, late C18 extension to the south with an
outshut to the west. Early C18 house to the right, late C18 cottages
to the,left. Early C18 house: 3 storeys with cyma recta moulded eaves
band; one bay, chamfer mullioned windows containing casements, those to
the ground and first floors have 3 lights, that to the second floor 2
lights; door to the left with raised surround. Late C18 cottages:
2 storeys; 3 windows, C20 casements; doors to left and right. West
front: early C18 house to left, 1ate C18 cottages to right. Early
C18 house: fire window to the chimney stack and small first floor
window to the left, both casements. Late C18 cottages: one storey;
3 windows, casements. Interior: early C18 staircase with turned
balusters.
