Farmhouse. C17 with late C19 alterations and additions. Coursed stone;
blue machine tile roof; verge parapets with moulded copings to left-
hand end, and shaped kneelers; 2 corniced ridge stacks to right, and
stack in valley to left. 'T'-shaped plan of 2 parallel ranges to head
and attached wing, extended to west, forming stem of 'T'. Front: of
5 windows and 2 storeys in 2 parts; projecting 2 gables to left; the
outer one agricultural and slightly smaller, has on first floor a 2-light
chamfer mullion window; below is a coach entry under a sharply cranked
lintel to left of centre and a further door to right below valley;
window between; larger gable to right has C19 five-light, chamfer mullion,
lattice casement to first floor and mid-C19 hipped bay window to ground
floor. Pent-porch set in return angle to set-back right-hand range of
3 windows; C19 casements except for 4-light, chamfer mullion window
against porch and C17 reveal to single light adjacent to right. Stone
steps to first floor of east side. The house has retained a byre and
barn attached parallel to the parlour cross wing and adjoined by a hall
range extended in the C19.
