House. C15 or early C16 with alterations of C17 and early C19.
An open-hall house of 2 or 3 cells. Timber-framed and rendered.
Thatched roof, half-hipped at left hand end, with eyebrow
casement dormers and rendered axial chimney. Early C19 windows
in the Gothick style, mainly of 2 lights with wooden casements,
Y-tracery in spandrels and leaded lights. C20 semi-circular
porch, 1-storey with swept thatched roof. Boarded and battened
entrance door with nail-heads and decorative hinges. The left
hand cell is well preserved, with an exposed lodged 1st floor and
good coupled-rafter roof. The straight tie-beam bracing is lap-
jointed at the upper end, an archaic technique surviving into the
C15 in the Dalham area. Chimney and 1st floor inserted into hall
C17. The right hand cell added or altered C17 or C18.
