House. Early C16 with alterations of C18 and early C19. 2 storeys. Timber-
framed and rendered, with early C19 parapet having modillioned cornice.
Plaintiled roofs, hipped at left; gabled cross-wing to right. Central chimney
of gault and red brick. Early C19 small-pane sash windows. 1 storey semi-
circular portico, with entablature and flat leaded roof, on slender Doric
columns. Early C19 French doors with oblong fanlight having intersecting
bars. The front wall was originally jettied at 1st floor; when the wall was
underbuilt and re-fenestrated early C19, the exposed face of the C16 chimney
at ground floor level was concealed. This has sunk panels with trefoil-headed
arcading in carved red brick. In the hall are rib-moulded 1st floor beams and
a large open fireplace of early C16. Some panelling and other C18 features
internally. The service wing of 1 storey with attics was added to right
c.1800.
