Originally the Manor House. It is the remaining part of a larger house.
A Cl5-C16 timber-framed and plastered building. Well restored. Two
storeys. The upper storey is jettied on the front with carved bressumer,
curved brackets, carved capitals and moulded shafts. The exposed joists
are supported on a wall plate which is partly carved. Two window range
of casements with lattice leaded lights. The ground storey has 2 C18
3-light casements and 2 original windows with moulded mullions and carved
lintel and sill with oak leaf pattern. A fine original gabled porch
projects on the front with a bressumer carved with oak leaf pattern and
supported by brackets, capitals and shafts. There is a 4-centred outer
doorway with carved spandrels, and lintel and an inner boarded door with
nailed fillets and similar carved spandrels and lintel. The bargeboards
are modern restoration. Roof tiled, with a ridge chimney stack on the
south end. The interior has good features including moulded beams and
fireplace lintel.
