Lynns Hall was originally a manor house probably of C15-C16 origin but
substantially rebuilt or altered in the C16-C17. It is said to have
been built by a wealthy clothier. A timber-framed and plastered building
on an L-shaped plan with wings extending to the north and west. Roof
tiled. The north wing may incorporate some of the earlier structure.
Two storeys. The upper storey is jettied on the whole of the south front.
The upper storey of the west wing 4 bays) appears to have been open
to the roof. Four window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars.
One ridge chimney stack and one external stack at the east end.
