The Three Horseshoes Inn and adjoining tenement
II
The cottage on the south was formerly a medieval hall house with a floor
and chimney stack inserted in the C16-C17. The north part, now the Three
Horseshoes Inn, was added probably in the C17. Renovated. A timber-framed
and plastered building with a thatched roof. Two storeys. Small modern
casement windows. There is a ridge chimney stack with 2 diagonal shafts
on a square base. The interior has exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams
and joists and the south part has a cambered braced tie beam with crown
post and smoke blackened roof timbers.
