A C14 and C15 flint church with stone dressings, perpendicular aisles
and clerestorey and a west tower which was rebuilt in 1868 after being
struck by lightning in 1758. The chancel is of the C14 and the nave
is C15. The north porch has very good flushwork panelling. The nave,
aisles and west tower are castellated. The interior fittings include
a fine carved C12 square font, the lower part of a former C14 rood
screen and a low tomb recess in the north aisle. There is a C17 monument
to Robert Ryece of Preston Hall (d 1638). Many of the windows have
heraldic shields, said to have been made for Robert Ryece. There are
also good poppyhead bench ends. Graded for its architectural and historical
value.
