A C16-C17 timber-framed and plastered house with exposed timber-framing.
Renovated in the C20. The ground storey at the south-west end is brick
faced, colourwashed. 2 storeys and cellars. The upper storey is jettied
on the whole front on carved brackets with the remains of carved capitals.
The north-east end has a bressummer elaborately carved with oak leaves
and figures of men and beasts and coats of arms. The south-west end has
exposed joists. 5 window range, 2-light leaded casements. Roofs tiled.
The malthouse which adjoins the house on the south-west end is C18, red
and blue brick, built on a U shaped plan. 2 storeys and basement. There
are centre hung pivot windows. Roofs tiled, with 7 dormers on the south-west
side and 4 on the north-east. The wings of the malthouse have been built
out in the centre.
