A timber-framed and plastered house with cross wings at the north and
south ends. Originally a medieval hall house, it had a floor inserted
in the C16-C17, and was extended to the north in the C17. At the rear
a long 2 storeyed service wing of about the same date extends to the west.
it was refronted in the early C19. 2 storeys and attics. The cross wings
have jettied upper storeys on the east front. 1:2:1 window range, casements
witn early C19 stucco hood moulds. The first storey windows are 2-light
and the ground storey windows are 3 and 4-light, with mullions and transomes.
An early C19 gabled porch projects on the front with cut and shaped ornamental
bargeboards. Roofs tiled, with a central chimney stack to the main block
and an external chimney stack at the south side of the south cross wing.
Both stacks have 2 octagonal shafts with moulded caps and bases (restored).
There is a similar stack with 1 octagonal shaft on the north cross wing.
The interior of the roof has smoke blackened timbers and a crown post
with 4 braces.
