Early C19. 3 storeys. 'L'-plan. Main part brick on stone plinth with brick
flat arches. Flat eaves with paired brackets. Slate roof with large stone
kneelers. Plate glass sash windows. Two 3-light and central narrow windows
to upper floor. On ground floor two 3-light windows and central half glazed
door in painted stone Doric porch: 2 thin columns, wall pilasters and entablature,
sides filled with half-glazed panels, and with outer double 6 panel doors.
Small Fire Insurance mark above central 1st floor windows. Large wing to
north-east projects with whole height angular bay termination. Brick with
slate roof. The bay has 3 windows with keystones to heads. Ground floor
curved to south-east with stone mounted corbel to corner above. The return
front facing south-west later with overlapped brick eaves bands. Two 3-light
windows with glazing bars (all other windows have no glazing bars) and half-glazed
door to left hand of centre in plain modern brick porch with flat moulded
stone roof. This building forms a good stop to the curving line of Church
Street. 3 gabled extensions to rear, one with stone gable wall and saddlestone
and a reputedly medieval window with tracery, possibly part of a house used
by the precentors of Salisbury who held the rectory. Inside is a 2 bay arch
braced collar-beam roofed room now called "The Chapel".
