Mid-late C18. Originally a 5 bay house with central door, later a matching
2 window extension added and 2nd door. 2 storeys and attic. Coursed and
squared rubble with ashlar quoins. Projecting plinth in 2 stages, bottom
part ashlar, splayed ashlar capping to 2nd stage forming cills of ground floor
windows. Plain 1st floor string and over 1st floor windows. Small moulded
cornice and ashlar parapet over with coping - both these features removed
from No 42 and replaced by reconstituted Bath-faced blocks. Old tile roof
with 2 dormers. Glazing bar sash windows, 7 on 1st floor, formerly 6 on ground
floor - a 6 panel door now replaces window to left of original door. The
latter is a 6 panel door in an ashlar recess with architrave surround and
key block; radiating and wreathed fanlight; good brass eagle knocker.
