House. Late C16 and mid-late C17. Timber framed with brick
noggings, thatched roof. Single storey and attic, 4 bays, lobby
entry plan with living hall and service room at north end, and
parlour and second unheated parlour on south. Framing 3 panels
high with heavy bressumer and straight and curved corner braces.
Main parlour developed in C17 with upper chamber, gabled with wide
close-studding sills of original oriel windows and carved
bargeboards with central drop pendant. Door in C20 lean-to porch
on east side. C20 timber windows. Brick stack and roof quarter
hipped both ends.
Interior has chalkstone and limestone stack with chamfered stone
lintel to parlour, ovolo moulded central spine beam with elaborate
stops, and scratch moulded joists. Hall-kitchen has timber fire
lintel and scoop stops.
