SU 16 SE (west side)

6/229 St. John's Cottage

GV II

House. C16-C17. Timber framed with brick noggings. Thatched
roof. 'L'-plan, of 3 bays with a forward wing of 1 bay. Framing
3 panels high with corner braces, but right bay is an extension in
slighter framing. Entrance in re-entrant angle. Gable towards
road is of brick and flint with exposed tie beam. Leaded casement
windows. Roof hipped over extension and swept down at rear
over narrow service rooms. Brick stacks.
