2/92 Lower Westfields Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Mid/late C18. Flemish bond red brick with string course and brick
dentil cornice. Old tile roof; brick right end and ridge stacks have cornices.
L-plan, with wing on right to rear. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range.
6-panelled door with fanlight and hood on scrolled brackets to third bay.
Relieving arch; string course breaks above hood. Cross window above. 3-light
wood mullioned and transomed windows with horizontal glazing bar and gauged
brick flat arches. Small boarded opening with painted wood lintel between second
bay and entrance. High walling above first floor windows. Right return side has
small 2-light C20 attic casement with brick segmental arch. Rear irregular. Wing
has C19 plank door, and flush 6-panelled door. Cross windows with horizontal
glazing bar. Ground floor window has relieving arch. Main range has 2-light
leaded attic casement. Brick segmental arches throughout. Interior not
inspected.
