Farmhouse, Early C17 with large late C19 addition to rear. Flemish stretcher
bond brick with some flared headers, and sandstone dressings. Old plain-tile
roof; large brick external stack to rear. Addition of brick. Plain-tile roof;
brick ridge stack. T-plan with wing to rear, extended to L-plan with wing on
left to rear, facing farmyard. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Symmetrical
main front to garden has splayed plinth, alternating quoins and moulded string
course. C20 part-glazed door in moulded stone architrave with pulvinated frieze
and pediment. Recessed moulded stone cross windows; on first floor left window
is blocked and right window has C20 wood cross window inserted. Gabled attic
projections have 2-light moulded mullioned windows, blocked on right.
First-floor and attic windows have hood moulds. Stone-framed shaped panel filled
with brickwork below each window, with 2 below attic windows. irregular
single-storey C19 and C20 range at right angles on right. Left return side has
large 2-storey canted bay window with recessed moulded stone mullioned and
transomed windows of 4 lights with king mullion, and of 2 lights to sides.
Plain-tile hipped roof. All windows have C19/C20 lights, with glazing bars to
upper lights. Gabled one-window rear range set back on left has cross windows
and blocked 2-light mullioned attic window. Rear has shallow Tudor-arched
chamfered doorway with C19 plank door, and cross window. Right return side of
main range, to farmyard, is a one-window range. Cross windows, with C20 wood
cross window inserted on first floor. 2-light mullioned attic window with
glazing bars. C19 wing to right is an irregular 2-storey 4-window range.
Interior noted as having 4-panelled door with large strap hinges.
