The building is now a school. C16 house, rebuilt in the C1S and greatly enlarged
in 1927. Architect, C P Callow. The original portion is at the west end.
Two storeys. Five windows. Ground floor red brick, above tile-hung. Tiled
roof. Sash windows with glazing bars. Two-storeyed projection in centre.
Large modern additions to east. The seat of the junior branch of the Ashburnham
family, one of the oldest and pre-conquest families in Sussex and the only branch
now surviving.
