Range of 4 barns. C18 and C19. Timber framed and weatherboarded
now mostly corrugated iron. Barns form 3 sides of a square. Main
range north-south, the southern barn being the earliest, 5 bays,
with midstrey to central bay facing west. Wide straight angle
braces to tie beam trusses, raking queen struts to collar and
single purlin roof. Sarsen gable sills. Some timbers re-used.
Abutting to north, similar 5-bay barn with midstrey, but aisled on
west side. Tie beam with straight struts to jowled posts. Raking
struts and collar. Entrance towards yard built up. Attached to
north end, barn 3, forming return end. Also 5 bays with central
opposed cart doors. Brick sills. Reversed curved struts to ties
and vertical queen struts. Forming return at south end, barn 4 of
2 bays, on brick sills. Trusses similar. Range continued by
cattle stalling in lower pitched roof.
