II
House, gable end to lane. Early-mid C17. Timber framed with brick
noggings replacing wattle and daub. Extensions to rear and left
of cob. Roofs thatched. Two storeys, 2½ bays lobby entry plan
with rear wing to parlour on left, narrow lean-to across remainder
of rear, and outbuilding to left gable. Framing 4 panels high with
wavy corner braces. Shelter board over upper horizontal bressumer.
C20 oak door under open thatched canopy, and C19 casement windows.
Roof half hipped, with central brick stack.
Interior has back to back fireplaces, the kitchen fireplace with
oven. Parlour fireplace has moulded Tudor arch, mantelshelf and
stone-panelled overmantel bearing raised panels on strapwork.
Fireplace now contains a refixed C19 iron range. Stair at rear of
stack.
