Former unit house or service range to The Old Guildhall (q.v.), now a house.
C16, stack inserted and part rebuilt C17, extended C19, altered C20. Timber
frame, plastered. Thatched roof. Some flint and brick in addition with slate
roof. 3 bays. 2 storeys. Gable end to road has ground floor brick casing
with a C20 3-light lattice leaded casement, first floor dual 2-light leaded
casements, hoodboards, elaborately cusped and waved finialed C19 bargeboards.
Right return has scattered 2 and 3-light casements, some early leaded lights,
ridge stack to rear of centre, cap rebuilt. To left is C19 bay, C20 entrance
with a bracketed hood, leaded 3-light casements, coving to oversailing timber
framed upper storey. Boxed eaves. Internal end stack. Behind addition a C19
brick and pantiled lean-to outshut from main range. Interior: original
entrances were to rear and to left side of front bay, stop chamfered cross
axial binding beams, chamfered jowled storey posts, rear bay largely rebuilt
following a fire in late C17. First floor close studding with straight arched
braces in walls, edge halved scarf joints in wall plates. Simple collar
rafter roof with inserted side purlins.
