Two cottages; built late C17 as a farmhouse; alterations of mid C19. 2
storeys. 3-cell cross-passage entrance plan; the right hand parlour cell is
of cross-wing form. Timber framed and plastered with C19 herringbone
pargetting in large panels. Pantiled roof; an axial late C17 chimney of red
brick with sawtooth shaft, and a C19 gable chimney to left. C19/C20
bargeboards with undulating soffits. C19small-pane casements; some renewed
mid C20. C20 half-glazed panelled entrance doors; that to No.25 at the cross
entry position. Some exposed C17 framing: primary braced studwork, square
sectioned floor joists set on edge. Blocked lintelled open fireplace in the
parlour. Clasped-purlin roof. The service cell was extended to left by one
bay in early C19.
