House, latterly 2 dwellings. Early C16, floor and stack inserted and parlour
bay added mid C17, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched
roof. Originally a small 2 bay open hall with storeyed service/solar bay,
parlour bay added to form a 3 cell cross passage plan. Now all 2 storeys.
Entrance in cross passage position with a boarded door. C20 gabled porch,
second entrance into parlour bay to left, scattered C19 and C20 casements,
ground floor hoodboards. Rebuilt axial ridge stack inserted in upper bay of
hall. Pantiled lean-to outshuts with attic casements above on gable ends. To
rear an entrance into former cross passage and into service end lean-to
outshut. 1 storey C19 pantiled outbuilding extends behind parlour with a
truncated external stack and a pantiled lean-to oven outshut to rear.
Interior: peg holes for screen at lower end of hall, 2 early doorways and a
panelled door from passage to service rooms, hall has an inserted stop
chamfered cross axial binding beam, diamond mullion mortices, cambered tie
beam, smoke blackened rafters, altered roof; parlour has reverse curved
bracing in walling, braced tie beam, cambered collars clasping purlins.
