Cottage. Late C15 or early C16. Timber framed and plastered with a pantiled
roof. 1 1/2 storeys. Various casement windows. Mid C20 boarded and battened
door. Internal stack, the 2 truncated octagonal shafts rebuilt mid C20. A
small 2-cell open hall house. The hall is in 2 bays, the lower bay being
quite narrow. Much of the frame is intact, together with the original joists
at the service end. The tie beam of the open truss carried queen-posts, the
head of each post supported by a brace extending from about the centre of the
tie beam; half of this truss has been lost, together with the upper parts of
the original rafters. Stack inserted into upper hall bay and the present
floor inserted late C17/early C18.
