House, early C17 with possible earlier core. One storey and attics. 3-cell
lobby-entrance plan. Timber-framed and plastered: over the entrance is a
raised panel with C18 pargetted figures, a pair of gryphons. A larger panel
over the parlour window to left has 8 raised fleur-de-lys. Over the two
remaining windows are similar panels with uniform patterning of restored cable
and fan type. Plaintiled roof. 3 C19 gabled dormers with horizontally-
sliding small-pane sashes. An early C17 axial chimney of red brick, of
unusual form: oblong plinth with moulded cornice, a square central shaft and
attached triangular shafts on either side. At the right hand gable is a
similar chimney but with twin diagonally-set square shafts. Mid C19 casements
with C20 boarded shutters. C20 doorway at lobby-entrance position: boarded
and battened door with dentilled cornice and arched head. To right is a lower
and later range, detached until C19: partly painted C19 red brick encasing
earlier timber-framing. Plaintiled roof. A second C20 battened and boarded
entrance door with open gabled porch on posts. Interior not examined.
