House. Late C16/early C17 front range with C17 wing to rear; C18 facade.
Timber framed, the facade roughcast-rendered; plaintiled roof. Rear wing is
plastered and pantiled. 2 storeys, attic to front range. 7 windows, sashes
with glazing bars. Lobby entry: one-storey flat-roofed porch with cornice;
doorcase with bracketed cornice, old 8-panel raised and fielded door. One
flat-roofed dormer. Stack has heavy shaft with 4 rebuilt flues arranged in
sawtooth form. Interior. An upper room has C17 plaster ceiling: moulded
cross-bands with a running foliage design, and in the centre of each division
a Fleur-de-lys or Tudor rose motif. This room has an early-mid C18 fireplace
with eared surround, frieze with bolection profile and cornice. Adjacent
room has early C19 moulded fireplace with corner roundels. First floor room
to right has coved ceiling, probably C18. Many C18 2-panel doors. Roof over
front range has clasped purlins and straight plank wind-bracing. Rear wing
has oak newel stair beside stack.
