-- II
Former farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. C17 to left, possibly earlier work to
right. Timber framed and rendered, lined in imitation of ashlar. Thatched
roof. 3-cell form. 1½ storeys. One 3-light casement window with horizontal
glazing bars. 3 flat-headed dormers with similar 2-light windows. 2 doorways
have C20 doors. Stack has axial shaft, the centre portion set forward at the
front. Later external stack on right gable end. C20 one-storey additions to
right and to rear. Interior. 2 bays to left of stack have plain full-height
studding. Ground floor ceiling has chamfered joists set flat, with ogee and
run-out stops. Roof timbers concealed. Dwelling to right of stack not
examined; 2 sooted rafters at rear of stack, if in situ, would suggest this
portion is C15 or early C16 in date.
