3/21 The Old Rectory

House, formerly the rectory. Late C18 front block; the rear range is earlier
C18 but may have an older core. Colourwashed brick, roof of glazed black
pantiles. 2 storeys with attic to rear. 3 windows: to the first floor sashes
with glazing bars in flush frames under slightly cambered brick arches, and
placed within larger segmental-arched recesses; tripartite sashes with blind
boxes to ground floor. Good doorway: 6-panel door (the upper 2 panels
glazed), panelled pilasters, fluted frieze with flanking medallions and dentil
cornice; above is a segmental fanlight. Wide, semi-elliptical porch with
leaded domed roof on tapering fluted columns and pilasters. Projecting eaves
cornice. Later single-storey addition to left with 2 tripartite sash windows.
