Farmhouse. C16 range to rear. The west end of this range was remodelled in
late C17 to form the present frontage, with an extension to the right in late
C18 or early C19 forming a T-shape plan. Colourwashed brick front range with
a roof of glazed black pantiles. The rear wing is timber framed, cased in
brick; slated roof, a later end section pantiled. 2 storeys with an attic to
part of the front range. 3 windows, C18-C19 casements under segmental arches.
Asymmetrical entrance doorway in later addition: C19 6-panel door (the upper 2
panels glazed), flat-roofed porch with entablature on octagonal posts. The
central doorway in the earlier section has been bricked up. Parapet gable
ends with integral stacks. On the south side of the rear wing part of the
original crowstepped gable is still visible. The left hand room of the front
range has a moulded floorbeam with very ornate stop-chamfers; in the room
above there is a bolection-moulded fireplace and flanking doors of C17
panelling with grills of splat balustrading above. Some exposed framing is
visible in the rear wing at first floor level.
