Description

TL 76 NE RISBY THE GREEN

3/87 Little Manor
-

- II

House, early C15. 1½ storeys, attics. Timber-framed and rendered, shingled
roof, dormers. A 2-bay formerly open hall with cross-passage entry at the east
end. The roof was originally hipped over the storeyed service end with a smoke
gablet. The west cross wind possibly original, altered. The hall open truss
had massive arch-braces with multiple pegging, and a crown-post (now positioned
on the staircase); square-sectioned with 4-way braces and a crudely-cut abacus.
The hall was floored over in the C16 and the service end largely rebuilt in the
mid C17. East wing and other alterations made late C19.
