Farmhouse. Early-mid C16. L shape plan with dairy wing to rear. Timber
framed and plastered, roof of modern concrete pantiles. 2 storeys and attic,
dairy wing 2 storeys. 3 cell plan, cross passage entry. Windows mainly C20
casements with leaded panes; 2 large 5-light moulded mullion windows at first
floor of south end, one smaller 4-light mullion window, one C17 3-light
casement window with diamond leaded panes; 2 mid C20 glazed doors to the main
front, boarded half-door to dairy wing. Good heavy internal stack, square in
section with sawtooth brickwork to each side. Interior with fine roll-moulded
beams and joists to one ground floor room, some roll-moulding to beams in 2
other rooms; 2 service doorways off cross passage with 4-centre arches with
carved spandrels; carved door to salt cupboard; first floor plaster chimney
piece incorporating the Tudor rose and Fleur-de-lys motifs.
