5/18 The Horse and Groom Public
House
GV II
Public house. C18 core with C19 facade. 2 wings forming L plan. One range
to Yarmouth Road. Timber framed with colourwashed brick face and plain tiled
roof; slated roof to Yarmouth Road. 2 storeys. Scattered fenestration:
casements and sashes in flush frames all with glazing bars and segmental brick
arches. Portico in antis with elliptical arch and 6 panelled door and
linings. Dentil course to Yarmouth Road range. Red brick stacks to gable
ends. The interior frame has been much altered but some stop chamfered beams
still survive.
