Farmhouse. C16 with C17 and C18 additions. Timber framed with cement
render and a plain tiled roof. Two storeys with attic, 3-cell C16 plan
with 2 added C17 cells. Entrance front: projecting single-storey porch at
left of centre with a glazed door. All fenestration on this front of C19
or C20 date. Three-light C20 casement to left of the door and two 3-light
and one 4-light C19 casements. To the first floor are two 3-light, one 4-
light and one 2-light windows above the porch. To the ridge at left of
centre is a chimney stack with rectangular base with moulded top supporting
6 circular flues of richly moulded bricks showing lions, crosses and roses
in relief with acanthus leaves to the bases. At right, below the ridge, is
a single-flue C19 stack. At right is a C17 addition with two ground floor
3-light C19 casements. To far right is a C19 or C20 lean-to addition with
a 3-light casement. Right hand gable end: lean-to with two 2-light
casements at either side of French windows in the lean-to. To the first
floor is a 3-light casement. To the ridge at left is a cross-axial stack
with two diamond-section flues, largely rebuilt in the C20. Rear: 5-light
window to C17 portion at right with central glazed door. To left of this a
4-light, a 3-light and a 2-light casement of C19 or C20 date. To the first
floor are four 3-light casements. The C17 portion at left of this has a
stable door at right and at left of this a 3-light semi-dormer window with
flat head. The C19 lean-to at left has a 4-light bay window.
Interior: chamfered beams to the ground floor with jewelled and die-out
ogee end stops. Close. studded walling. Baffle-entry lobby has winder
staircase leading out of it with C19 treads. Jowled wall posts to first
floor and one 4-centered chimney arch with moulded brick surround. Wide
floorboards and 3 plank doors with moulded muntins.
