Mill House. Late C18/early C19. Flemish bond brick with a slate roof.
Two storeys. Entrance front: at centre are 3 bays symmetrically disposed.
To the ground floor is a central 1/2-glazed doorway with a plain Neoclassical
surround with pediment and 1/2-glazed door with egg and dart to the 2 lower
raised and fielded panels and 3 x 3 glazed panes to the upper body. At
either side are sash windows, that at left horned, of 3 x 3 panes with
cambered splayed heads. The first floor has two similar lateral windows
and a blank recessed panel to the centre of similar shape. Right hand
gable end: 1/2-glazed door at right of centre and to left of this are two
cross windows with cambered heads and to the first floor two similar
windows. Chimney stack of 2 flues to the gable apex. Left hand side:
cambered-headed cross window to the ground floor, slightly to left of
centre and a similar first floor window. C20 wing at left of this with
metal framed casements. Rear: two bays at left with a central panelled
door of 6 panels with fanlight to left of which is a sash window of 3 x 4
panes and to the first floor are two similar windows. Projecting at right
is the C20 wing.
