2/98 Bridge End House
II
House. Late C16 to left extended to right in 1770 and further extended to the rear
in 1930's. Timber framed to left clad in red and brown brick, red brick extensions
with burnt brick lettering picked out on the right hand gable end. Plain tiled
roofs, hipped to rear and stepping down to left. One storey and attic to left, 2
storeys and attic to right with end ridge stack to left and multiple stack to rear,
further small end ridge stack to right.
Old range to left:- 3 framed bays with plat band over ground floor. 3 gabled
through eaves dormers above, with two, 3-light, cambered head windows below. Half-
glazed door to right in architrave surround under flat hood on brackets.
C18 extensions to right:- One window range with giant pilaster piers to ends. Plat
band over ground floor and modillion eaves cornice. Tile hung, 3-light pentice
roofed dormer in roof, one 16-pane glazing bar sash window on each floor below under
gauged brick head and pentice drip board.
1930s wing at right angles to rear.
