Interesting urban climax at end of street. No 83, early C19, 2 storey, 3
windows including blank recess at 1st floor above central entrance. Amber
24
brick. Sash windows. Slate roof, hipped, with eaves soffit. Ground floor,
added splay bay windows. Doorcase has slender Doric fluted columns and moulded
entablature. 6-panel door with sunk upper panels and panelled reveals. Front
garden with fence. Nos 85 and 87, circa 1830-40, 2 storey pair with 2 window
wide advanced centre, 4 windows in all. Moulded cornice to centre, parapet
at sides. Sash windows with glazing bars. Ground floor windows with consoles
and small cornices. Entrances at sides with doors with 2 vertical panels,
fanlights and small wood porches. Front gardens with low walls. No 85, with
railings remaining. Group value. No 89, early Cl9, 2 storey, 3 windows.
Stucco, lines and painted. Parapet with cope. Slate roof. 1st floor sash
windows with side glazing bars and wood louvred shutters. Ground floor splay
bay with sash window with margin bars. Entrance door with 3 sunk panels narrow
fanlight and flat canopy on iron brackets. Ornamental gate with quasi-spear
railings.
Nos 83 to 91 (odd) form a group.
