House, now Hotel. 1865. Yellow brick on red brick plinth with red brick cill
bands, wooden eaves mouldings to hipped slate roof; end stacks and stack to left
of centre with red brick diagonal corbelling. Two storeys with hipped roof
projecting bay to left end. 6 round arched sash windows across first floor with
moulded imposts and brick keystones. Cambered head windows to ground floor,
tripartite sash window to ground floor left. C20 glazed double doors to right of
centre in glazed wood porch under flat roof and blue sign fascia left hand return
front - angle bay window to left.

Primarily listed for historical value as it was occupied by George, 2nd Duke of
Cambridge, grandson to George III and Commander-in-Chief of the British Army
1856-1895 with his morganatic wife Louisa Fairbrother, Mrs. Fitzgeorge until
her death in 1890.
