Village Pump and Shelter. Circa 1860's. Sandstone with wooden roof and Horsham
slab covering. Square-plan. Stepped plinth, originally with four round piers
under cushion caps decorated with cable moulding. These support a pitched roof
of four gablets divided by valleys with central wooden finial. Each gable face
bargeboarded with pendant finial. Roof structure of tie beam with struts.
Large cast-iron pump with water trough under canopy. Corner shafts with
capitals supporting scalloped top with finial; part demolished in accident at time of re-survey but cover now repaired. The pump forms an important feature
of the Village Green.
