GV II

Former schoolmaster's house, now house. 1876 (date in Roman numerals
over door). Coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings and quoins, machine
tiled roofs with ornamental cresting; 2 central stone ridge stacks to
either side of paired stack behind ridge, all with round shafts and
moulded capping. 'T'-shaped in plan; C17 Vernacular style. 2 storeys,
although first floor lit to front only by a 4-light mullion window in
central gable; 2 principal ground floor windows to left and right both
of 3 lights with mullions and late C19 horned sashes; small 2-light
mullion window immediately to right of hipped entrance porch with
boarded door; chamfered floor band and plinth. The 4-light mullion
window in central gable and the small 2-light window both have fixed
lights and late C19 stained glass. Included for group value.
