House, probably C17 with later cladding. Timber frame clad in brick to ground floor
and tile-hung above, half-hipped tile roof. 3-bay, two-storey lobby-entry house.
Front to lane has small lattice-pane casements, board front door with glazed panels,
and confused brickwork, with straight joints corresponding to bays, of various dates.
1st floor is bricked only to 1st bay. One chimney. The left gable end is entirely
tile hung. At rear a glazed porch with extension over in the same style, and small
pantry, under catslide roof. Inside, simple chimney breast between last two bays,
with heavy bressumer to main room. Axial beam has shield stops, but main cross
beam is unmoulded, and formerly had stud partition. Upstairs most main timbers
are visible including corner posts, 2 studs per bay apparent from peg-holes and
surviving in some cases. One middle rail survives at rear of 1st bay.
