Early C19 front to an early C18 building projecting slightly forward
beyond frontage of No 44. Double pitched hipped tiled roof. 2 Storeys
and attic. 5 bays. Centre portion of 1 bay and 2 projecting wings,
each of 2 bays. 1 dormer above each wing and 1 larger dormer above
central part of building. Coved cornice. Stuccoed. Stuccoed quoins,
and ground floor rusticated. Taller windows on 1st floor. All windows
are sash windows in reveals with flat arches over; narrow glazing bars.
Rusticated voussoirs with central keystones to ground floor windows. Centre
portion has 2 storeys of thin Doric columns "in antis" which support a balcony
on the 1st floor and a coved cornice on the 2nd, which is contiguous with
cornices in lateral wings. Steps leading to semi-circular arched doorway on
ground floor; door in panelled reveals. Iron railings before colonnade on
ground floor. Windows with Gothic tracery on east front.
Inside, early C18 staircase, with turned balusters (3 of different pattern
to a tread), columnar newels, ramped handrail, panelling above wall string.
Some panelled doors in panelled reveals; moulded architraves, panelled
overdoors.
