4/11 Paddocks Farmhouse
II
House, formerly farmhouse. Late C15 or early C17 lobby entrance. House refaced
in C18 and with C19 canted bay addition. Red brick with some stone dressings, tile
hung to gable end and tiled roof having off-central brick cruciform stack and end
brick stack. 2 storeys, 4 bays, with integral outshot to rear. Moulded brick
eaves cornice, right end sandstone pilaster and sandstone plinth. Irregular
fenestration comprising right hand 2 storeyed C20 4-light bay with pediment above,
similar 3-light window with pediment to left, simple casement to ground floor with
rubbed brick voussoirs and left hand 2-storeyed, 3-light canted bay. Single modern
door. The Paddocks, which is a C19 wing to South, is not of special interest.
Interior contains beams with lambs tongue stops. Roof of Queen post construction.
