House. 1934-6 by Lubetkin and Tecton, one of 8 houses built together in the
International modern style. Brick now rendered on cement plinth, flat roof
concealed by cement coping. 2 storeys, 2:1 windows. Modern windows in existing
openings, 2 casements on 1st floor with concrete window boxes and continuous
window the whole width of the house on ground floor. Cement balcony to ground
floor. Round-headed doorcase to side with cement hood sweeping to ground at
right hand. Interior retains half-elliptical staircase and original
half-elliptical chimney with curved fireplace with black tiled surround and
integral shelves. (See Pevsner, Buildings of England, Sussex, p 530).
