House. Third quarter of C18; addition c.1970 of c.1870 porch from Windsor
Crescent, Newcastle. Brick with painted ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof.
Main house: 2 storeys, 5 bays; wing set back at left: 2 storeys, one bay.
Central glazed door under large 2-pane overlight in 1870 porch with square,
leaf-capitalled columns and entablature. Painted wedge lintels to sash
windows with glazing bars; first floor brick string. Similar lintels and
sashes in wing have painted projecting sills. Modillioned eaves cornice
to main house; 2 corniced brick chimneys on hipped roof. Hipped roof and
brick chimney to wing. Interior shows stair with curtail and wreathed
handrail; 6-panelled doors in deep panelled reveals; pulvinated frieze
and cornice to doors in principal ground-floor room, and stucco modillioned
ceiling cornice.
