GV II*

Gate lodge, wall and gates. One of a pair (q.v.) c.1785. Lias ashlar,
sandstone dressing. C20 asbestos slate roof and central stone chimney.
Rusticated quoins and moulded plinth and cornice to lodge and wall. Single
storey, one-window cube flanked by lower narrow bays with round-headed niches,
and concave quadrant wall curving forward to a pier with a niche and quoins.
Classical design. Late C18 sash window has a moulded stone architrave and
pediment, and blind balustrade below. Shallow pyramid roof behind a parapet.
Rear elevation identical. Entrance on left hand return side has a portico of
2 Tuscan columns in antis with a framed panel above, and a flat 6-panel door
with moulded architrave. Wrought iron pedestrian and carriage gates of spear
motif have openwork piers with original lanterns. Interior not inspected.
