Two cottages. C17 and early C19. Timber framed with whitewashed brick infill,
and whitewashed brick. Old tile roof; brick ridge stack. Each 2-unit plan. 2
storeys; 4-window range. No.4 has mid C19 four-panelled door and moulded wood
surround. Adjacent late C20 bow window. No.2 has late C20 plank door in mid C19
wood surround. Early/mid C19 bow window. First floor has two C19 casements with
glazing bars. Brick range on left set at slight angle. Late C20 plank door and
mid C19 sash. First floor has C20 sashes. Gable end facing Town Hall has late
C20 bow on ground floor. Early C19 bow with 16-pane sash on first floor. Rear,
facing parish church, of whitewashed brick with irregular fenestration; late C20
casements. Interior not inspected. Important position on the edge of the
churchyard.
