Hotel. Late C18/early C19 with early/mid C19 additions. Red brick with
terracotta modillion cornice. Tile roof, hipped on left; brick ridge and
internal stacks. L-plan extended to U-plan. 3 storeys; 5-window range. Central
double-leaf 4-panelled doors and fanlight with glazing bars, and panelled
intrados. Wooden doorcase of baseless fluted Doric columns, dosserets and broken
pediment. Sash windows with gauged brick flat arches. End bay on right has small
mid C19 shop front with hood on heavy Gothic brackets. 3-window range to
Bleachfield Street, with cellar entrance on left, and door inserted to right of
central window. Addition on left has entrance with half-glazed 4-panelled door
and wooden doorcase of simple pilasters. To rear: early/mid C19 two-storey range
with brick dentil cornice. 2-storey segmental bow window of paired sashes. Wide
entrance with pair of 6-panelled doors, Irregular and altered fenestration.
