Range of farm buildings including barn, stables, cart sheds and cottage. c.1830.
Red brick with brick dentil cornice. Old tile hipped roof; brick ridge stacks.
L-plan, with wing on left to farmyard. One and 2 storeys under single roof; 9
bays. Entrance side has blind arcading with 3 outer bays of round arches, and
single wider segmental arches flanking central round archway with low C19
arcaded wooden gates. Continuous string course across arches. Round arches
enclose blind Diocletian windows with brick mullions. Second bay has central
light; most other bays have pitch doors. C20 casement inserted between second
and third arches. First 2 bays form cottage. First bay has plank door and
casement, second bay 2 casements. Windows throughout have glazing bars. All
opening have brick segmental arches. To farmyard: central archway has flanking
cartsheds, now with plank doors, with lower side segmental relieving arches and
wood lintels. To left and right are ranges with plank doors flanking 3-light
wood mullioned and transomed windows. Cottage at right end. 2 storeys; 3,
formerly 2-window range. C20 part-glazed door in reduced doorway. 2-light
casements, smaller to right. C20 central casement. Wing has 3-bay barn
projecting slightly on left. Segmental arched doors in reduced opening. Vents.
Internal buttresses. King-post roof. Right part has plank door and two -light
wood mullioned and transomed windows. Mid/late C19 canopy in angle has slate
roof and cast-iron column.
